826 Valencia helps under-resourced children and young adults develop their writing skills and helps teachers inspire their students to write. The organization offers in-school programs, after-school programs, workshops, summer camps, and more. 

Literacy Source - Adult Literacy Programs, Seattle, Washington

Literacy Source provides free learner-centered basic education to low-income adults in the Seattle area. The organization has helped adult learners achieve basic literacy and language skills necessary for self-sufficiency since 1986.

The Ruth Ellis Center - LGBTQ Safe Space, Detroit, Michigan

The Ruth Ellis Center serves the needs of runaway, homeless, and at-risk lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth in the Detroit area. Among their services are a drop-in center, Street Outreach Program, transitional living programs, and an emergency housing shelter.
